Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Digital Access (Private) Limited ("KonnektAI", "we", "our") collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit konnektai.co.zw, subscribe to our internet services, use a KonnektAI hotspot, or otherwise engage with us.

We process personal data in accordance with the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07]. Our Data Controller registration under Statutory Instrument 155 of 2024 is in progress; this Policy will be updated with the registration number once issued.

1. Who We Are

Digital Access (Private) Limited, trading as KonnektAI, is a Zimbabwean ICT services company headquartered at 9th Floor Chiyedza House, 1st Street & Nkwame Nkurumah Avenue, Harare. We operate managed Wi-Fi, fibre, satellite and metro VPN services for enterprise and consumer customers. Our ISP licence application with POTRAZ is in progress.

2. Personal Information We Collect

From website visitors

• Browser, device, and operating system information
• IP address and approximate location (city / suburb)
• Pages visited, time spent, navigation paths
• Information you provide via contact, quote or coverage-check forms

From hotspot and ISP customers

• Name, phone number, email address, payment reference
• Service address and billing address
• Connection logs, bandwidth utilisation, uptime data (network management)
• Payment metadata (we do not store card numbers — payments are processed by Paynow)

3. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal information on one or more of the following lawful bases under the Cyber and Data Protection Act: contract (to deliver the service you requested), legitimate interest (network security, fraud prevention, service improvement), legal obligation (tax, regulatory reporting), and consent (marketing communications, optional cookies).

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate your KonnektAI service (fibre, hotspot, managed Wi-Fi, etc.)
• To bill, collect payment for, and reconcile services
• To respond to coverage enquiries, quote requests and support tickets
• To monitor network performance, detect faults and respond to security incidents
• To comply with legal, regulatory and tax obligations in Zimbabwe
• With your consent, to send service updates and offers

5. Sharing & Third Parties

We share personal information only with:

• Payment processors (Paynow) for transaction processing
• Mapping providers (OpenStreetMap, CARTO, Esri) when you use the Coverage Map
• Microsoft and AWS where you have purchased a managed cloud service from us
• Government, regulators or courts where legally required

We do not sell personal information.

6. Data Retention

Customer service records: retained for the duration of the contract plus six years for tax purposes. Network connection logs: retained for 90 days unless required for an active investigation. Marketing communication preferences: retained until you withdraw consent.

7. Your Rights

Under the Cyber and Data Protection Act you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion (subject to our legal retention obligations)
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority

8. Security

We implement technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), access control, network segmentation, and regular security review. No system is impenetrable; we will notify affected individuals and the relevant authority of any breach as required by law.

Our cookie usage is described in our Cookie Policy. Essential cookies are used to make the site work; optional analytics cookies require your opt-in via the consent banner.

10. Updates to This Policy

We will update this Policy as our services or the law changes. The "Last reviewed" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified to active customers by email.
