Acceptable Use Policy

Effective: 1 January 2026  ·  Applies to all KonnektAI fibre, hotspot, satellite and managed network services.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the standards of conduct expected of customers using any KonnektAI internet service. It exists to keep the network secure, reliable and fair for all users and to comply with Zimbabwean law.

1. Prohibited Activities

You may not use any KonnektAI service to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam or commercial mailings
  • Distribute malware, ransomware, viruses or other malicious code
  • Conduct unauthorised port scanning, intrusion attempts or denial-of-service activity
  • Infringe intellectual property rights of others (copyright, trademark, patent)
  • Distribute or access material that is illegal under Zimbabwean law (including child sexual abuse material, content inciting violence, fraud)
  • Operate open relays, open proxies or anonymisation services that conceal source identity
  • Resell bandwidth without a written reseller agreement with KonnektAI
  • Tamper with KonnektAI equipment, attempt to bypass billing, or share voucher codes outside the device limit on your plan

2. Bandwidth & Fair Use

Dedicated fibre customers

Bandwidth is dedicated and uncontended. There is no fair-use cap; the contracted speed is yours 24/7.

Hotspot voucher customers

Each voucher tier has a stated data allowance and device limit. Exceeding either may result in throttling or session termination. Bandwidth shaping is applied during peak hours to ensure fair access for all users on shared infrastructure.

Managed Wi-Fi (enterprise)

Per-user policies are configured in your captive portal. Aggregate bandwidth is governed by your contracted service tier.

3. Network Security

You are responsible for the security of devices connecting through your KonnektAI service, including patching, antivirus, and access control. KonnektAI may temporarily suspend a connection observed to be compromised (e.g. participating in a botnet, originating attack traffic) pending remediation.

4. Lawful Interception

KonnektAI complies with lawful intercept orders and data requests issued by competent Zimbabwean authorities under applicable law (Interception of Communications Act, Cyber and Data Protection Act). We do not provide content data without a valid order.

5. Reporting Abuse

To report abuse from a KonnektAI IP address (spam, attack traffic, malware), contact abuse@konnektai.co.zw with timestamps, source IP, and any relevant headers or logs. We respond to confirmed abuse reports within 24 hours.

6. Enforcement

We will work with customers to resolve AUP issues constructively. For serious or repeated violations we may, in order of escalation: warn, throttle, suspend, or terminate the service. Termination for material breach does not entitle the customer to a refund of pre-paid amounts.

7. Updates

We may revise this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be notified to active customers by email at least 30 days before taking effect.
